Mary Lou Brunell, MSN, RN - Executive Director
Mary Lou was appointed to the position of Executive Director November 2002 and previously served as the inaugural chairperson for the Center's Board of Directors. A Registered Nurse since 1973, Mary Lou worked as a clinical nurse (critical care), administrator, and educator. Her professional activities are extensive including two terms as President of the Florida Nurses Association and national appointments with the American Nurses Association. Mary Lou was appointed by Florida's Governor as a member of the Board of Directors for Workforce Florida, Incorporated and serves as Chair of the Legislative Committee. She is currently Chair of the Steering Committee for the Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers.

Jennifer Nooney, PhD – Associate Director: Research
Jen holds a Ph.D. in sociology with concentrations in medical sociology and quantitative research methods. She joined the FCN staff in 2006 after working for two years as a researcher at the North Carolina Center for Nursing. She brings to our staff her knowledge of research methods for nursing workforce studies and her strong background in data analysis and writing for peer-reviewed publications. Her interest in social justice, including access and quality in health care, attracted her to nurse workforce research.

Cathy Lewis - Executive Secretary
Cathy was appointed to the position of Executive Secretary October 21, 2002. For 15 years Cathy ran a one-woman office working for a financial advisor. Her interpersonal and organizational skills are a real asset for the FCN.
